Take Action to Fight Elimination the Arts in Education Program at the U.S. Department of Education - Oppose HR 1891

Jun 15, 2011

The misleadingly named Setting New Priorities in Education Spending Act, H.R. 1891, would eliminate 43 K-12 federal education programs, including the critical Arts in Education program that funds newly emerging education models in high-poverty schools that improve and provide equitable access to arts learning.

The House of Representatives is expected to vote on this bill in the coming weeks, so your voice is urgently needed now. Click here to take action via the Performing Arts Alliance Website.

We should not be fooled. These cuts are not about reducing the deficit; they are about allowing very wealthy individuals to pay taxes at a lower rate than in the 1990s. Arts Education is important. Urge your Representative to support the Arts.
